The district has a Board approved Comprehensive School Improvement Plan guided by the mission statement and based on the district's fundamental beliefs about teaching and learning. This plan serves as the district's foundation for allocation resources, developing policies and procedures, and selecting and implementing instructional programs designed to raise student achievement. The CSIP was developed through the combined efforts of Board Members, staff, administrators, students, parents/guardians and community members and is ongoing. Goals, outcomes or objectives are provided in sufficient detail to direct the improvement efforts of the district for at least a five year period. The CSIP is evaluated and updated as necessary.
Goal One: EXCEL in academic achievement.
Strategy 1: Develop the necessary instructional practices and supports on each campus to ensure the achievement of 800/820 index points on the Missouri Assessment (800 for 5-12 & 820 for 3 & 4), with a heightened focus on communication arts and specifically the IEP and Free/Reduced disaggregated subpopulations.
Strategy 2: While presently part of the culture, continue to provide professional learning opportunities in the areas of differentiated instruction, assessment for learning and the use of instructional technology.
Strategy 3: Develop schedules, activities and programs designed to create opportunities for positive student/teacher relationships, inclusive of tutoring/mentoring programs to impact student academic and social development.
Strategy 4: Study the district's current instructional practices as they relate to response to intervention (RTI). With continued exploration of RTI systems, a model will be developed to integrate RTI district wides.
Goal Two: EXCEL through parent and community involvement.
Strategy 1: Implement the SIS Parent Portal to enhance communication regarding attendance and overall individual student progress.
Strategy 2: Redesign the structure of PK-12 parent/teacher conferences to include the development of individualized student goals, which provide for parent input, and a means of ongoing feedback for students and parents.
Goal Three: EXCEL as productive citizens.
Strategy 1: Revise the district's Technology Plan to: Monitor the newly designed infrastrucute to support the district's technology efforts in the areas of instruction, communications and general operations.
Strategy 2: Expand the district's partnership opportunities to include: A) Career & Technical Programs for instruction. B) Tutoring/mentoring to support the district's AVID program.
Goal Four: EXCEL within a safe learning environment.
Strategy 1: Implement general safety and security recommendations identified by outside consultants, the building Safety Committees and dstrict Safety Coordinators.
Strategy 2: Develop, provide training and implement a threat assessment program for the safety of students and staff.
